The ottoman fabric on the Ultimate Backpack is woven in France by artisans who’ve been perfecting their craft for decades. This tightly-woven, tough-as-old-boots fabric is usually saved for sofas and armchairs, but we’ve nicked it for something a bit more exciting—a backpack built to survive daily battering. We picked it for this new version because it stands up to scuffs, showers, blazing sun and, most importantly, the test of time far better than the canvas on our first edition. Water-repellent and woven in France, it shrugs off fading too, so there’s no danger of your black bag looking strangely grey come spring. That drawstring? Reinforced. The zips? Absolute units—just as sturdy as you’d hope.

Meet your long-haul companion – built to go the distance and get better with every mile. The idea? For it to age handsomely, picking up those well-earned scars along the way. It’ll become a bit of a time capsule, chronicling adventures like a passport that never needs renewing. Not something you ditch – if it needs TLC, you repair, not replace. Turns out you lot were crying out for this. Thanks to the co-creation process, we heard (loud and clear) you were tired of rucksacks giving up after a year or two. The Ultimate Backpack pulls no such stunts. It’s an investment that lasts, style that doesn’t date, and the sort of toughness you clock from minute one – all for very good reason.

Basically, it means you buy the garment before it’s produced. By pre‑ordering, you’re the one launching the production.
