What exactly is Ventile®?
A patented fabric that's naturally windproof and water-repellent
Normally, you need a chemical treatment or a synthetic material to get water to bead off the surface of a fabric. Ventile® is different:
- The cloth is 100% organic cotton. Zero plastic in sight — the entire body of the jacket is cut from certified organic cotton.
- The water repellency comes from the weave. The magic is in how the yarns are interlaced. It’s woven so densely that the cotton fibres swell on contact with moisture, creating a water-repellent, windproof surface.
- It's surprisingly light. On top of all that, the fabric comes in at 200 gsm, which isn't heavy at all for an outer layer. It does the job without weighing you down.

We took inspiration from a 1930s golfing jacket and you can feel it alright:
- The fit is short and slightly boxy. It's a blouson, so the hem is ribbed and cut to sit on your hips. You can swing a club unencumbered, or just hop on your bike and generally look good at the bar. Your call.
- Raglan sleeve. When it comes to freedom of movement, it doesn’t get much better. The raglan is the most generous armhole construction going. No surprise why it features here.
- The back yoke isn't just there to look good. Yes, it's handsome. Yes, it flatters the shoulders. But it's not purely aesthetic. The yoke also allows air to flow without letting the rain in. Just as handy on a sweaty commute as it is on the 18th.

- A reliable pull. It's smooth, it's tough, it's got a ring slider for an easy grip, and it comes straight from YKK — the world leader in zips.
- The lining isn't just for show. The body’s lined in a brushed cotton tartan for comfort and the sleeves are lined in viscose so the jacket slips on easily. It’s a carefully considered blend of functionality, thermal performance and good looks.
- The pockets are built to last. You've got two angled ones at the hips, complete with flaps and snaps, and a handy one on the inside.
- Ribs that time won’t eat. The 6cm ribbed edges are there to keep draughts out, and they ain’t going slack anytime soon. 89% cotton, 10% polyamide, 1% elastane.
