The Light T-Shirt Care Guide

Nothing new under the sun

T-shirts are as easy to wash as they are to wear and the Light T-Shirt’s no exception.

Of course, you’ll be washing your tees more than your outerwear, so it’s well worth taking a little care when it’s time to freshen up.

Tees are washing machine-friendly. We recommend washing your tee inside out with similar colours at a maximum temperature of 30°C.

We recommend liquid detergents because the powdered ones usually leave marks on dark colours. We always push for gentler, organic detergents, and stay well clear of any that contain bleaching agents.

Dry as a bone

Never wring out your T-Shirt, it’s not your Sunday League socks.

Best bet is to machine-spin it, limiting the program to 800/900 rpm tops to avoid damaging the cotton fibres. Once the excess water’s out, just dry it flat in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight.

Pressing issues

Once your tee’s dry, you can iron it on a low heat (cotton setting, 2 dot setting on the iron), avoiding the seams. Layering some material between the iron and your favourite tee can’t hurt either. A clean tea-towel will do.

It's not transparent, but we are

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works. So here are a few extra details about your Light T-shirt:

  • It's 100% recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, know that it can be fully recycled. That said, we'd suggest thinking about giving it away before recycling as the longer it's worn, the lower its impact.
  • It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, they've been designed to minimise their environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
  • It doesn't contain any hazardous substances. It respects strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make it.
  • It doesn't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately that wasn't possible with this one.

Over to you!

Right, once it's dry, fold it and stick it in a cupboard. No special advice needed for that bit. We trust you.

We hope life with your Light T-shirt treats you well, we'll be back in touch in a couple of weeks to see how you're getting on.
