There’re some overshirts you never give a second thought. And then there's this one.

If you're reading this, you're probably not planning on feeding the pigs in it.

With that in mind, we’ve prepared a quick rundown on how to take care of it to keep it looking its best for years to come.

Nothing tricky here, you can machine wash your overshirt on a normal cycle at 30 or even 40°C.

To be on the safe side, get yourself a wash bag to avoid the fabric rubbing on things as it whizzes around and around.

Maximum spin 800 rpm. Any higher and it’ll suffer some.

As for detergents, opt for a liquid, eco-friendly one without bleaching agents.

Give the tumble dryer a wide berth. It damages the fibres, your electricity bill, and this spinning piece of rock we call home.

Give it a good shake when you get it out of the washing machine, and then leave it to dangle quietly on a wooden hanger in a well-ventilated spot away from direct sunlight. The bulk of the creasing will naturally fall out as it dries.

You can skip it, but in this case, a quick blast pays dividends.

Opt for a cotton setting (150° max), and place a layer of fabric between your overshirt and the iron to avoid any shine.

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works. So here are a few extra details about your Canvas Overshirt:

• It's 100% recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, know that it can be fully recycled. That said, we'd suggest thinking about giving it away before recycling as the longer it's worn, the lower its impact.
• It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, they've been designed to minimise their environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
• It doesn't contain hazardous substances. It respects strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make it.
• It doesn't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible with this one.
