Terry Polo Shirt Care Guide

Now that you’re the happy owner of a Terry Polo Shirt, you probably want to keep it in tip-top shape. We’ve prepared a few tips to keep it in service for many, many years to come.

Washing your Terry Polo Shirt

Nothing complicated here: just turn it inside out, pop it in the washing machine on a 30°C cotton setting. Keep the spin cycle to 800 rpm max.

Wash similar colours together so the darker ones don't bleed onto the lighter ones, but you probably knew that. If you've got a mesh laundry bag to hand, even better.

For detergent, we always recommend a liquid, eco-friendly one. If you have time on your hands, you can also make your own by following one of the 3 million recipes floating around the internet. It's cheaper, greener, and you finally get to develop your own scent.

Drying your Terry Polo Shirt

Here, we'd strongly recommend drying it flat to stop it losing its shape over time. Just place your polo shirt on a towel.

Give the tumble dryer a wide berth. It's no good for the fibres, no good for your wallet, and no good for the planet.

Ironing the Terry Polo Shirt

This step isn't strictly necessary, but it's possible if required. Just set your iron to a cotton setting (110°C max) and place a layer of fabric between the iron and your polo shirt to avoid singing it.

Squeaky clean

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works.

So here are a few extra details about your Terry Polo Shirt:

  • If your time together comes to an end, your Terry Polo Shirt can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
  • It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, your Terry Polo Shirt has been designed in 100% organic cotton to minimise its environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
  • It doesn't contain any hazardous substances. The Terry Polo Shirt respects strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make it.
  • It doesn't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately that wasn't possible with the Terry Polo Shirt.

Many thanks!
