If you're reading this, chances are you've taken the plunge on the Pleated Trousers. Smart move. We appreciate it.

Believe us, you won't regret it — especially if you look after them properly. Here's how.

Good news: your new companion is machine-washable.

Every 7–8 wears, turn them inside out, pop them on a 30°C cycle with a splash of organic liquid detergent.

For the spin, keep it to 800 rpm max. Anything more upsets the fibres.

We'd recommend hanging them upside down by the legs and letting gravity do most of the work for you. This way the creases will naturally fall out as they dry.

If possible, outdoors or in a well-ventilated spot is best, always away from direct sunlight. Never tumble-dry — it'll wreck the fabric.

Not essential, but you can iron them. A quick blast at 150°C will do the job. Always place a layer of fabric between your trousers and the iron to avoid any marks.

After that, hang them up on a clip hanger if possible upside down to keep them looking their best.

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works.

So here are a few extra details about your Pleated Trousers:

• They're 100% recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, your item can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
• They don't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, they've been designed to minimise their environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
• They don't contain hazardous substances. Our Pleated Trousers respect strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make them.
• They don't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately that wasn't possible with this one.

Not so demanding, after all. If you follow these few pointers, and don’t do anything crazy in them, these trousers will last you for years and years.
