The Pleated Trousers have a straight fit that sits somewhere between an easy-going pair of chinos and the crisp, clean lines of a pair of proper trousers.

  • A balanced straight cut. They fall straight from thigh to ankle, without overdoing the width. Once you've experienced this level of unrestricted comfort, there's no going back.
  • Full range of movement. One pleat at the top of each leg not only looks damn fine, they also make these trousers seriously comfortable to wear.
  • A double-button waistband. Two buttons: one visible and one hidden on the inside. More support, less pulling, and a cleaner appearance.

We'd be surprised

Our Product team tracked down a rather special fabric for these trousers:

  • A properly solid sateen weave. Unlike plain weaves and twills, sateen doesn’t have a uniform appearance. The warp and weft threads cross at irregular intervals, producing a fluid, ultra-hard-wearing cloth. The texture is distinctive, with a subtle workwear flavour.
  • A balanced weight. At 286 gsm, the fabric holds its shape without weighing a tonne. Expect a clean drape and fresh legs, even when the mercury rises.
  • 100% organic cotton. To weave this sateen, we sourced soft, strong yarns in 100% certified organic cotton. Gentle on the skin and fully traceable. Not a synthetic fibre in sight.

We never take anything for granted

Durability is our bread and butter. When we develop a pair of trousers, we make sure everything is locked down tight so they'll last you decades.

  • Enter Expotime. This is not about access to a trade fair, but our expert Portuguese manufacturing partners. They also make our Chinos and Tough Trousers, so we know just how good they are at their craft.
  • Pockets that go the distance. Two Italian pockets at the front, two welted at the back, each bagged in pure cotton with reinforcing bar tacks and solid stitching. These aren't giving up any time soon.
  • Hardware built for the long haul. Silver metal zipper, bio-sourced buttons sewn with shanks on an Ascolite machine, these trousers are properly locked down.
