Light Denim Care Guide
So you've gone for the Light Jeans? Can't say we blame you.
Now that's settled, we need a quick word about care. We've designed this piece to last — but like any good relationship, it needs a bit of attention to go the distance.
Here's how to look after your new companion so it sticks around for years.

WASHING RITUAL
Forget the urban myths about never washing your denim. Your jeans don't deserve to become a breeding ground for every bacterium in the neighbourhood.
Washing them couldn't be simpler: stick them in the machine on a standard 30°C cycle. Every 7-8 wears is plenty.
Just make sure you wash them with dark colours only — the indigo can bleed and discolour your lighter items if you're not careful.
PS for the purists out there: if you prefer doing things the old-fashioned way, you can obviously give them a cold soapy bath every 6 months. If you go down this route, remember to air your jeans between wears. Your skin and the twill will both appreciate the thought.

SPINNING AND DRYING
Standard 30°C cycle, sorted. But what about the spin? Our recommendation: 800 rpm and not a rev more.
Once that's done, just hang them by the legs on your drying rack and wait for them to dry — ideally somewhere well-ventilated and out of direct sunlight.
In a few hours, they'll be ready to go again.
NB: avoid the tumble dryer like the plague — there's no better way to shorten your jeans' life expectancy.

ON THE SUBJECT OF IRONING
If you're the type who likes crisp fabrics, set your iron to cotton mode at 150°C max and place a cloth between the appliance and your Jeans.
That way, you'll spare yourself nasty white marks if the iron's soleplate isn't spotless or if you're using hard water.

FYI, OUR LIGTH JEANS ARE SOFT ON YOU AND THE PLANET
Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Light Jeans:
- They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
- No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Light Jeans have been designed not to release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
- They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
- They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Light Jeans.

Thanks!
