Your Heavyweight T-shirt is now in your possession, just as it should be. One thing to keep in mind, as the name suggests, this tee is one dense tee. We’re not being mean about it, quite the opposite - it’s a very good thing. It’s just very thick. Oh dear, this isn’t going to plan. Let's move on. Here’s how to take care of it so it lasts for years to come.

Into the machine it goes. Inside out, at 30°C, with similar colours only. Opt for liquid detergent, avoid bleach and keep the spin cycle to 800 rpm max. Anything higher will wear it out over time, which is a shame given it gets so much of its character from its density.

Flat. Always. It may be dense, but it'll still stretch under its own weight if you hang it up wet. So, lay it on a towel on the bathroom floor, or on a flat drying rack in the open air - either way, away from direct sunlight.

And whatever you do, don’t wring it out by hand. It's tempting, but it’ll break fibres and over time you’ll notice the difference. Press it instead, then lay it out flat.

If it really needs it, a gentle iron at 110°C max will do the trick. This jersey barely creases and this tee isn't intended to look ironed to within an inch of its life. A quick burst of steam is enough.

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works. So here are a few extra details about your Heavyweight T-shirt:

• It's 100% recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, your item can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
• It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, it's been designed to minimise its environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
• It contains no hazardous substances. This tee is made to the strictest standards, with no dodgy chemical treatments.
• No recycled materials this time. Sometimes we manage to use recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible in this case. It’s made from certified organic cotton.
