Yes, the Polo Collar Jumper is knitted. And yes, the Polo Collar Jumper is made of wool. Two particularities that require special care when cleaning. Here’s the lowdown.

The first thing to say is that your Polo Collar Jumper doesn't need frequent sprucing up. The Merino wool fibre structure considerably limits the growth and proliferation of bacteria on the yarn, making it odourless and ‘self-cleaning’. Between each wear, simply lay your Jumper out in the open air for a few hours to find it fresh and ready to go.

As a result, a good soak every 10-15 wears is more than enough.

When it comes to washing, we recommend you do it by hand in cold water, with a dab of organic liquid detergent. Even if it's an effort, this will prove to be the least hard on your knitwear's fibres, and the best for its life expectancy.

Soak your jumper in the water for a few minutes, rubbing lightly without wringing, then rinse with clear water.

The trick here is to avoid wringing it. Wool fibres don't like the rough and tumble too much, and the worst thing you could do would be to stress them to get rid of the water. Instead, we recommend folding your Polo Collar Jumper and applying gentle pressure from top to bottom so that it drains slowly.

After that, simply lay it flat on a terry towel to air dry. Needless to say, the dryer is a no-go here. The same goes for the iron.

Once dry, you have two options: over your shoulders or in the cupboard. If you opt for the second option, be sure to fold it and store it flat. In the long run, if you keep storing it on a hanger, it’s likely to lose its shape. It does weigh 540 grams, after all.

If it's going to be stored for a long time (during the summer, for example), we'd encourage you to hibernate it under a protective cover to prevent dirt and moths from getting at it. Better safe than sorry, right?

We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works.

• It’s 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that if your time together comes to an end, your item can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
• No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, it's been designed to minimise its environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
• It does not contain any hazardous materials. It respects strict European standards aimed at eliminating substances and chemical treatments that could be harmful to you, the environment, and the people who make it.
• It does not contain any recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to use recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible in this case.
