Care Guide for the 48h Bag
Packing up
Made in France from a sturdy double-faced canvas with comfortable and durable straps by French house Satab and metal gear from Maison Poursin, your 48h Bag is a proper rolling stone of a bag. However, we have a few tips for you to make sure it enjoys a long life on the road:
Caring soul
Your 48h Bag is looking to go places as it will now be your trusty weekend carrier. However we know it’s probably going to get kicked around and put through its paces quite a bit.
It will nevertheless hold down the fort and protect all your valuables while you’re comfortably lugging them around. It laughs in the face of rain, shrugs off stains and thinks nothing of small spaces.
That said, to keep it looking its best for longer we recommend
- not overloading it
- not closing it by sitting/jumping on it and/or squeezing the zip closed.
- and since it’s easy to carry it by hand or on your shoulder, no punting it up the platform required.
Remember, a little TLC goes a long way, even with a tough nut like the 48h Bag.

Go with the grain
You’ll have no problem making your way through all weathers and terrains, thanks to the fabric’s water-and-stain repellent treatment. However there’ll be plenty of dust and dirt catching a free ride along the way, and there’s a good chance you’ll want to get rid of it.
All that’s needed here is a small brush. Keep it dry and give your bag a brisk dust-down after every outing. It doesn’t take much effort and you’ll quickly see the difference.

Dare to care
We’re pretty sure you didn’t need us to point it out but to get the most out of your 48h Bag calls for a reasonable use. However that shouldn’t get in the way of experiencing a few thrills and spills inside and outside the bag.
A few tips for that:
- Dampen a cloth with a few drops of natural soap or detergent and brush the stains on your bag vigorously.
- You can add a drop of white vinegar to remove any stains that have worked their way deep into the fabric. Some may recommend using ammonium, but we don’t as it might damage your bag’s water-and-stain repellent coating.
- Rinse out the areas you’ve just cleaned with a damp cloth, no need to soak it though.
- Let it air dry, preferably outside and in the shade to avoid the colours fading.
We’d also avoid putting it through a machine wash, and never do the unthinkable and put it in the tumble dryer!
If it’s really filthy, a gentle hand wash generally does the trick. If some stains prove to be more stubborn than expected (fat, wine…), the last resort would be taking it to the dry-cleaners.

Thanks
There you have it. That’s all the care your 48h Bag will need.
We’ll radio back in a few weeks to see how your trips together have been going.
