It ain’t made from bin bags

Most gilets out there are made from polyester, or some shady blend that's never quite revealed. Ours is made from pure RWS-certified wool, woven in a dobby weave. It’s compact, dense and won't bobble after three washes.

We gave it a brushed finish for a slight vintage / boiled wool feel, minus any of the usual scratchiness. It keeps you warm, it's comfy, and looks good. What more could you want?

How long do you have?

Throw it over a white T-shirt for a laid-back look. Slip it over an Oxford shirt to tighten things up. It’s good to go whenever, and with whatever. It’s cut with enough room so you can layer it up, and a touch longer at the back so it stays put when you're on the move. We’ve thought hard about every detail so you don’t have to. There aren’t many easier items out there.

It can take the strain

An item like this gets worn a lot, if not all the time, so it has to be able to take a beating. Get a load of these finishings:

• A metal YKK double-zip. Hard-wearing, open it from both the top and bottom for comfort.
• The bindings are elasticated at the armholes, pockets and hem so it keeps its shape, wear after wear.
• Topstitched tone-on-tone for a strong, tidy finish.
• We stitched on 2 reinforced patch pockets to carry around your keys, phone, or your hands when you don't know what to do with them.
