Time to put an end to the myth that wearing a parka makes you look like a penguin. Seriously now. Here's a coat made for regular humans — people with jobs and errands, simply set on not freezing solid when winter rolls round. Relaxed enough to throw a jumper underneath, but fitted enough not to billow like a tent at the first sign of wind. For fans of earlier editions, we've softened the shoulder line, as apparently it had a touch of nightclub bouncer about it. Duly fixed. And the hood? Now drops just above the field of vision, making crossing the road a little more predictable.

The Winter Parka is the result of six years of tinkering—and a fair bit of listening. It's built to look great and to take a hammering for years to come. Every detail's closely considered. The fabric easily fends off rain and daily wear and tear, the stitching is tough as nuts, the shoulders are softer for a clean line, and the hood falls perfectly. Handier pockets, too.

There's also a new Camel colour, as handsome as they come. We've always backed our Parkas, but here we've pushed the formula even further. You may find yourself, for once, actually looking forward to winter.
