Technical is usually just a more savoury word for petrochemical. Ventile®, however, is different. First invented by the RAF in the ‘30s, it’s water-resistant without the help of any nasties. Its purpose wasn’t to keep you dry ambling about your local high street, but to help pilots survive the freezing temperatures of the North Sea.

As ever, ours is made from organic cotton, which is woven in such a way that when the fibres swell up on first contact with water, the gaps in the weave close and hey bingo - it lets nothing through. Naturally breathable when dry, water-repellent when wet. The best of both worlds and 100% natural.

Singing in the rain

This raincoat’s made to be worn, and cut accordingly. Don't let us catch you leaving it to gather dust in the wardrobe when we've packed in everything that matters for an everyday item:

• The armholes and the shoulders have been shaped so you can pull it on easy, over a jumper or not.
• The sleeve head softens the shoulder. A modern silhouette that doesn’t try too hard.
• A back vent for maximum range of movement.
• Removable storm tab to close the front of the collar when things get really filthy.
• Corded topstitching and a double-turned inside finish for a tidy appearance and serious durability. It’s the subtle things you end up noticing most.
