Ventile® is a 100% organic cotton fabric originally developed for bigger things than the morning commute. The Royal Air Force came up with it to help pilots survive longer if they landed in freezing water. It’s very clever stuff. Today, it’s made by the good people at Stotz in Switzerland who make this extremely water-repellent cotton without any nasty chemicals. The secret is in the super-tight weave. When the fabric comes into contact with water - most likely rain in your case - the cotton fibres puff up, creating a natural barrier. It’s a really, really effective water-resistance, all thanks to Mother Nature.

Laidback, pure comfort

The Parka’s cut straight, just below your backside: the perfect length for keeping dry and able to move freely. It’s roomy enough to wear a bulky jumper underneath and cut with raglan sleeves so you can swing your brolly about with wild abandon. Unsure which size to go for? If you’re looking for a neater silhouette, go a size down; for more room, just stick with what you usually go for.

Solid finishing touches

When it comes to the finishing touches, we don’t mess about. And the Parka’s no exception: no corners cut here. It’s right up there with the very best.

  • Three pockets right where you need them—two flap pockets with snaps on the hips, one inside tucked into the front placket.
  • A drawcord at the waist and hood—so you’re ready for whatever the weather throws at you, from rain to wind to just downright cold.
  • We’ve added sturdy snap fasteners at the cuffs. Simple to adjust, so you can tighten up and cut out the chills sneaking up your arms.
  • We’ve gone with an antique silver metal YKK zip—proper hardware.
