The Textured Shirt

A masterclass in weaving

This fabric is a genuine work of art:

• The choice of fibres. We went with certified organic cotton whose fibres are renowned for their softness, length and durability.
• Deliberately spun with imperfections. We intentionally selected irregular yarns with varying thicknesses to create a texture that's as satisfying to look at as it is to touch.
• A one-of-a-kind weave. The warp and weft both play with yarn counts to create a totally new weave. A combination of fine and thicker yarns produces a texture and graphic quality that’s genuinely unique.

This isn't a fabric you'll bump into on every high street. Somewhere between crêpe, gauze and seersucker, it's quite simply exceptional.

Designed for comfort

With its distinctive character, the Textured Shirt sits firmly in the relaxed end of the wardrobe. Naturally, we cut it accordingly.

• The fit is straight. Apart from a subtle taper at the side seams, the cut is straight through and through.
• Versatile length. It sits below your seat, which is spot on for wearing untucked. If you'd rather tuck it in, it'll stay put without a fuss.
• Extra comfort. We've added a comfort pleat in the centre of the back for ease of movement. This way, you get better mobility through the arms and shoulders — perfect for flagging down the ice cream van.

Business as usual

We broke new ground on the fabric front, but we've kept the winning formula on the finishing.

• Buttons that aren't going anywhere. Button-down collar, cuffs, and button placket: every button is bio-sourced and sewn on with an Ascolite machine. They're in it for the long haul.
• A chest pocket built like a tank. The chest pocket on the left is topstitched with cordonnet thread and reinforced with a triangular stitch at the top. Load it up — it won't budge.
• The purist's detail. A nod to the classic American button-down, we've added a small hanging loop inside the collar so you can hang your Textured Shirt wherever you like.
