Thickness without the stiffness

Firstly, suede has absolutely nothing to do with the Scandinavian country that churns out Krisprolls. It’s a term used to describe sanded or buffed leathers, just like ours:

  • 100% Portuguese cowhide leather. Smooth yet tough, cowhide is a leather that takes daily wear and tear in its stride. Ours is sourced in Portugal—guaranteeing top quality and keeping every step right here in Europe.
  • A suede with plenty of texture. We buff the suede, coaxing out its nap till it feels buttery soft and rich to the touch. This brushing technique gives it its unique depth of character.

Straight up

Flashy cuts are all well and good for the world of cinema and catwalks, but that’s not our thing. We set out to craft a simple, beautiful Leather Jacket that’s dead easy to wear. Never overpowering, but also doesn’t fade into the background.

  • A short, straight fit. Like any good jacket, the cut is precise and everything sits just where it should. The length hits just over your hips, and the torso’s fitted without turning into a sausage casing. It’s designed to move with you so you can get on with your day-to-day.
  • Bomber collar and ribbed edges. As is often the case, inspiration comes straight from the military. In fact, the spiritual mother of the Suede Leather Jacket is the MA1 flight jacket which gave the world the iconic bomber collar and elasticated rib cuffs and hem. Not only does it look the business and flatter every build, but it's warmer than triple glazing.
  • The unmistakable double ZIP. The double pull zipper is fast becoming an Asphalte signature. Because it opens from both the top and the bottom, you can tweak your Bomber to fit your mood, your outfit and whatever the weather throws your way.

That’s putting it mildly

Not only have we gone for indestructible leather, we've made sure it’s built to last—good luck wearing it out in a single lifetime.

  • Topstitching with heavy-duty cord thread. We don’t mess around with the seams on a jacket like this. We chose a proper chunky thread to keep a kilo of leather under control.
  • Giving your back-up some back-up. The entire body and pockets are lined with cotton, and the sleeves are lined with viscose so your arms slip straight in.
  • Three trusty pockets. Two hip pockets with double piping, and one internal with a snap button to keep whatever you’re stashing secure. Each one’s got a proper sturdy cotton bag, so your essentials won’t be breaking free anytime soon.
  • And here’s that handy little neck loop. To keep your Suede Leather Jacket in tip-top shape, we’ve added a leather hanging loop inside, at the back of the neck. It’s so damn annoying when these little details get overlooked.

How does preordering work?

Basically, it means you buy the garment before it’s produced. By pre‑ordering, you’re the one launching the production.

With this system, we only produce what’s sold, so we avoid overproduction and can offer you an excellent quality‑price ratio.
