The t-shirt is the most basic of basics. To give it a bit of swagger, we tracked down an extraordinary jersey.

  • A knit that's all about texture. It’s a classic jersey, but a clever bit of mastery makes it anything but. By varying the yarn diameter and knit tension, we’ve created a uniquely textured surface. Clever and damn good looking.
  • A four-season weight. The Imperfect T-shirt comes in at 245 gsm. That's well above the market average (around 160 gsm) without being too heavy. The result: a beautiful drape, proper oomph and serious durability.
  • Soft from the off. Our organic cotton is combed to get rid of the shortest fibres. This creates a smoother, more even and softer yarn. On top of that, an enzyme wash treatment nibbles away at the last fibrils for a ridiculously silky hand feel.

It's flawless

The fabric may be deliberately imperfect, but the fit is anything but.

  • Balanced proportions. It's a straight fit — not too loose, not too tight.
  • The length that just works. Tucked in or left out, it's all about balance.
  • The proof's in the pudding. It shares the same cut as our Ultimate T-shirt, which our customers gave a solid 8.8/10. Enough said.
  • No nasty surprises. We pre-washed the fabric to stabilise it and rule out any risk of shrinkage. The tests are conclusive: it doesn't budge.

Top-notch stuff

At Asphalte, we like items that last as much as you do. While most t-shirts on the market are virtually disposable, we develop ours to stick with you for years and years to come.

  • A thick organic cotton jersey. Organic cotton fibres outlast conventional cotton by a mile. As for our jersey, it's dense enough to take hundreds of wears without flinching.
  • A reinforced 1x1 rib collar. We sandwich the jersey at the neckline with two layers of rib to create a triple-thick collar. It won't be losing its shape any time soon.
  • Double topstitching to lock everything down. We've added it at the collar, the sleeves and the hem to reinforce them. It lasts, and then some.
