What's the elastane all about?
Just a drop, for comfort
We wanted our Heavy Chinos to be tough, but we also wanted them to be comfortable. Here's the combo:
- 97% organic cotton. That's the strong, soft, natural-fibre-against-your-skin part.
- 3% elastane. It's not much, but it's enough to give the fabric some serious flexibility. We're not saying they’re yoga pants, just that that little 3% makes your chinos seriously liveable.
- A properly substantial twill. Its 260 gsm are ready to stick around for years and years.
4.5/5
This is the average rating given by over 247 customers. Their expectations? They match this rating.

Are they a bit baggy?
Not a chance
The Heavy Chinos are endowed with a semi-slim cut that’s tidy while being super versatile.
- Neither too loose nor too tight. Room through the hip and a gently tapered leg from the knee down. Exactly what you lot keep asking for.
- A perfectly balanced leg opening. Coming in at 17.5 cm on a size 30, it works with most shoes.
- 8.5/10. That's what our customers rated them last time round. Just putting it out there.
- The details that seal the deal. Side adjusters, welted back pockets, YKK metal zip, bio-sourced buttons — nothing's been left to chance. We've pulled out all the stops.

How did it come about at Asphalte?
Will the colour hold up?
Plenty of you have railed against chinos that quickly lose their lustre after a few washes. We hear you — we've been there. With the Heavy Chinos, that can’t happen. To make sure of it, we roll dyed the fabric. Instead of dunking the finished trousers into a dye bath, we dye the fabric before making them. Not only is the colour more even this way, it also means the pigments penetrate deeper into the fibres, making it last longer.

How does preordering work?
Basically, it means you buy the garment before it’s produced. By pre‑ordering, you’re the one launching the production.
With this system, we only produce what’s sold, so we avoid overproduction and can offer you an excellent quality‑price ratio.
