British gravitas meets Italian sensibility

Woven from Fresco® in Huddersfield, our Fresco Suit sits firmly in the British tradition of understated tailoring. But we've engineered it for summer. Here's what we mean:

• A comfortable fit, but nothing loose about it: the jacket is slightly tailored, just enough to define your silhouette without restricting it.
• A Neapolitan shoulder: we went for the soft shoulder construction from southern Italy for its natural, airy drape. It’s softer and less structured than the classic British padding. Genuinely the best option when the heat is on, and way more versatile this way.
• Lapels with a bit more presence, we’ve widened them a touch for this version.
• A jacket that breathes. Apart from the sleeves, the jacket is completely unlined. The body is cut with a wide facing that structures the front without stifling the rest.

Spoiler: yes, and then some

A summer suit usually means a flimsy fabric that loses its shape after three hours on the clock and one conga round the wedding cake. Not this one. Here's why:

• Fresco® is tougher than it looks: to weave it, Hardy Minnis tightly twists several merino wool yarns at high intensity before the fabric is woven. That's what gives it its vibrant texture and crease-resistant character. More importantly, it makes it seriously hard-wearing.
• Conted, the specialists: the Romanian factory we chose has been making nothing but suits for decades. Half-canvas construction, felt under-collar, welted pockets: everything is controlled down to the millimetre with proper tailoring know-how.
• Merino wool is low-maintenance: naturally self-cleaning and odour-resistant, it’s high on plus points and low in faff. A dry clean every 10–15 wears is more than enough. Friendly tip: try to wear both pieces equally often so they age the same.

King of summers
