The problem with smart shirts is they crease the moment you sit down. To put an end to this torment, we opted for a 100% organic cotton poplin, woven in Italy with double-twisted yarn.

We applied a natural aloe vera finish that deposits an ultra-thin film between the fibres. The fabric feels softer, it creases less, and is certified organic.

It’s not magic, but it works well: your shirt will crease less. So no need to whip out the steamer between meetings, and when you pull it out of the washing machine it’s a lot easier to iron.

Tailored, not clingy

The fit is based on our Button-Down Oxford, a long-time customer favourite. We then modified it a bit to sharpen it up. The result is a cut that’s close to the body without restricting movement:

• A gentle nip at the waist, nothing scary.
• The neck and shoulders are cut to comfortably accommodate a tie if need be, but it works just as well worn open.
• You can lift your arms, move, breathe: it’s long enough to tuck in without making a bid for freedom every two minutes.

The Classic Shirt fits true to size. If you’re between two, size up for comfort.

A collar that stays put

The neckline on a lot of shirts is cut too low. It’s why the collar crumples and goes limp. Not what you want.

Ours is cut higher and has removable stays to keep the collar looking perky. We also fused the collar and the placket for extra structure. With or without a tie, it stays looking fresh.

We also sewed on all the buttons properly. The cuffs have two each, so you can adjust the closure.
