They're really something, aren't they?
You've got to admit, they're quite the lookers. After all, these boots do have 75 years of history behind their crepe soles. From the far edges of the Saharan desert to the Abbey Road zebra crossing, with a merited entrance in the footwear Pantheon of style, they've left their mark just about everywhere. Metaphorically speaking.
Historic design
Ever since Nathan Clark brought them back from Egypt at the turn of the ‘50s, they've been part of Jamaican reggae, American Beatniks, London's swinging sixties and probably your parents' youth. The best part is that they've kept the same simple design all this time: a suede upper on a crepe sole.
The Asphalte beef up
Many of you liked the boots for their sleek lines. But you also told us they didn’t inspire hard-wearing footwear that will last for years to come. Say no more. Back at Asphalte HQ, we made sure ours passed the test, imbibing their iconic features with added durability. How we did it? We chose a thick, supple cowhide, hand assembly and triple-stitched the seams to make them, well, triply tough.
Tough sole to boot
Let's face it, the Comfortable Boots wouldn't live up to their name if it wasn’t for those mythical crepe soles, which are made by heating and pressing multiple layers of rubber together. The result is an ultra-soft sole that's as comfortable and insulating as ever. First-timers beware, once you’ve got a taste for them, there’s no coming back.

As we said, our preorders now only last 6 days. So if you want to treat yourself to the Comfortable Boots, you'll need to be quick on your feet.
They'll be available to preorder from 10 am (CET) on Tuesday until midnight on Sunday, for 149€. With an Italian sole, Spanish leather and Portuguese assembly, you’ll be as hard-pressed as those crepe soles to find better value for money.
