Let the Weekend Bag Begin

Whether it's a short break with friends, a romantic getaway, or a mid-week business trip, choosing the right luggage can be a real headache.

Overloaded tote bag? If it's not your shoulder that's giving out first, it'll be the handles. Half-empty suitcase? Good luck lugging that around without regretting every minute of it. A sports bag that’ll make you look like a lower-league football manager? You’re not going to bring back any trophies for elegance.

The truth is that the most appropriate design for any short-trip luggage is that of our Weekend Bag. You can send all the others packing.

As its name suggests, the Weekend Bag allows you to carry enough stuff to survive comfortably 48 to 72 hours away from home. We've cracked the ideal proportions to satisfy both optimal capacity and functionality.

It's 47 cm long, 30 cm wide, and 21 cm high, and offers plenty of room for such a compact size. With its cabin-friendly format, you can take it everywhere without having to choose between your laptop and your wash bag for a change.

Our Weekend Bag is made from a 100% cotton canvas from Telatex, a factory in the east of France that’s been making this sort of thing since 1860.

We wanted a durable fabric that would happily withstand a high degree of punishment so opted for their thick 360g/m² canvas. With a fabric this dense, you’re guaranteed your new travel assistant won’t be handing in their resignation any time soon.

The icing on the cake is that we've given it a water-repellent coating, a useful treatment that’ll help keep your stuff dry in the event of a downpour.

Foam-padded fabric is a bit like a Ferrari without tyres. Great at first sight, but quickly runs into problems. So we've beefed up our Weekend Bag the proper way, to make sure it can take a hit or two.

First of all, we've chosen solid metal trims to save you from broken zips and busted seams in the usual stress areas.

Secondly, we've sandwiched compact foam between the base of the bag and the lining to absorb some of the impacts you may throw its way.

Finally, we've integrated an adjustable and removable cotton strap so you can carry it over your shoulder.

Add to this a zipped outside pocket and a small inside pocket, and you've got a tough, practical solution ready and waiting to jump into action whenever needed.

This Weekend Bag will be available from 10 am CET on Tuesday for 149 €. It will be available in three beautiful colours: black, navy blue with white handles, and army green with sand colour handles. The hardest part will be to pick which one you want.

A bag made from French fabric and assembled in Portugal to this high standard isn't something you'll find on the high street or in a train station, so we'd advise you to step on it.

You can expect your Weekend Bag to be delivered end of October, after which you'll be able to enjoy it for decades to come.

If you miss out on preorder for one reason or another, it's not entirely impossible that you'll come across it again at a Stock Sale, but the price will then rise to 199 € to reflect the added inventory costs.
