A Merino Masterpiece

Forget everything you think you know about wool. Cast cable knits from your mind, banish the bobble hats. Merino wool’s different. Made from the fleece of the majestic Merino sheep, this stuff is renowned for being breathable, lightweight and super-soft, meaning it’s perfect for… well, pretty much everything.

Merino’s so comfy and breathable that it’s often used for sportswear, but we thought keeping it hidden away in the sports vest locker was selling it short. Regular life’s tiring enough, why not let Merino make things a little easier?

We can’t stress this enough… Merino wool isn’t like normal wool. Sort of the opposite of how a flask keeps cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot, it’ll keep you cool when the heat is on, and warm you up when there’s a chill in the air. And because it’s tightly woven and super-strong, it doesn’t pill or bobble. Perfect.

Worried about the dreaded wool itch? Don’t be. Our Merino is seriously soft, measuring up at just 19.5 microns. That basically means the diameter of each fibre is ultra-fine, and you can wear it against your skin in supreme comfort, without feeling like a bully from The Beano’s put itching powder down your back.

Merino wool is a lot easier to care for than regular wool—and the Merino T-Shirt will be fine just thrown in your washing machine on a low heat. Oh yeah, and because of its wondrous anti-bacterial properties, you won’t need to wash it half as much as a cotton tee either. Win-win..

For some strange reason, Merino wool is usually reserved for ultra-tight fitting long-sleeved shirts—alright for running in, but no good for much else. Using the short-sleeved shape of our much-loved Ultimate T-Shirt as a base, the Merino T-Shirt won’t look out of place with a pair of jeans or an Oxford shirt.
