The Merino T-Shirt Care Guide

However amazing merino wool’s natural properties might be, your new favourite T-shirt won't look after itself. So, here are a few spells that will keep it looking its best for years to come.

Go easy on the washes

Merino wool is "self-cleaning", meaning it doesn't tend to retain bacteria or smells. If only all tees were this practical. What does that mean for you? Well, unlike a cotton or synthetic T-Shirt, you won't need to wash this one after every wear. Unless you're wearing it to do a triathlon, a wash every five or so wears should be more than enough. Just let it take a little breather between each outing.

If this is your first Merino item, we know all of that might sound far-fetched. But trust us, this stuff’s magical. The icing on the woollen cake? Fewer washes means less water and less energy used — this Tee’s not just you-friendly, it’s eco-friendly too.’espacement des lavages épargne de l’eau et de l’énergie (sans parler des économies), ce qui fait de lui un bijou d’éco-responsabilité.

Keeping things cool and calm

When time comes for a clean, simply put your Merino T-shirt in the machine on a wool programme at 30°C tops. Most important of all, keep that spin cycle low! Never go over 400 revs per minute though.

If you're nervous about the machine, you can of course hand wash your T-shirt, as long as you don't wring it out at the end. Wringing can damage those supernatural fibres.

Take it lying down

If you’ve ever owned a woolly jumper then you should already know: wool garments should be laid flat to dry, in order to avoid warping or stretching. The same goes for this Merino T-shirt, obviously, it’s wool after all. Just find a flat surface, and lay your wee Tee down on a terry towel to avoid soaking your floor. Job done.

PS: Don’t even think about putting your Merino Tee in the tumble dryer.

Put that iron away

You can save yourself the hassle with this one. Jersey and merino wool have a natural elasticity that makes the material pretty much wrinkle-free. If it’s not broke, don’t iron it.

If you really love ironing, that’s fine, just select 'wool' mode and give it a few quick passes. Just remember wool’s not a fan of high temperatures.

Over to you!

No slight of hand tricks for this magic tee, just a few basic tips and you’re all set to experience the wonders of merino wool for years to come.
