The Good Trousers Care Guide

If you're reading this, you've probably put your trust in The Good Trousers — and we're grateful for that. Look after them properly, and we reckon you won't regret it for a second. Here's how to do it.

Washing them

The good news? These can manage a spin in the wash.

After 7–8 wears, turn them inside out and run a 30°C cycle with a splash of - preferably organic - liquid detergent.

For the spin cycle, stick to 600–800 rpm. Any higher and you risk being too rough on the cotton fibres.

Drying them

We recommend hanging them by the legs to dry — it'll help them de-crease naturally.

Wherever possible, do this somewhere well-ventilated and out of direct sunlight. Most importantly, skip the tumble dryer — it's not kind to the fabric.

Ironing them

If hanging them up doesn't do the trick, you can give them a quick iron. A few presses at 150°C should sort them out nicely. As a precaution, always place a cloth between the iron plate and the fabric to avoid any unwanted marks.

After that, fold them up and store them on a hanger or straight into your wardrobe.

FYI, OUR GOOD TROUSERS AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Good Trousers:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Good Trousers have been designed to not release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Good Trousers.

Thanks!
