This jacket might be one of the most advanced in our wardrobe, but it never says no to a bit of TLC now and then. To keep you protected for years and years, it's expecting you to pamper it every so often.

It might sound odd, but your Active Windbreaker is machine washable. Depending on how much you wear it, you can stick it in the machine now and then to freshen it up.

It may be recycled, but your Active Windbreaker still contains polyamide. As you probably know, this material sheds bits of plastic in the wash. Not great for the oceans, so we'd rather give you the heads-up. To keep this to a minimum, get yourself a mesh laundry bag like the "Guppyfriend", which you can use with any synthetic-fibre textiles. Another option is to fit a microplastic filter directly onto your washing machine (if it doesn't have one already), but that's a whole other conversation.

Wash your Active Windbreaker inside out, all zips done up, with similar colours. Opt for your usual synthetics programme at 30°C with a moderate spin cycle (600 to 800 rpm), and use eco-friendly liquid detergent.

Once washed, leave your Active Windbreaker to air-dry on a hanger, away from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Never tumble dry it.

Unnecessary, but you can iron it if you want. Set your iron to "synthetic" at 110°C max, iron it inside out and place a layer of fabric between the iron and the Active Windbreaker.

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products, so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works. So here are all the details on this Active Windbreaker:

• It's recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, know that it can be fully recycled. That said, we'd suggest thinking about giving it away before recycling, as the longer it's worn, the lower its impact.
• It contains plastic microfibres. As a technical fabric, the Active Windbreaker contains synthetic materials.
• It doesn't contain any hazardous substances. It adheres to strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make it.
• It contains recycled materials. As we mentioned on the product page, our Active Windbreaker relies on 100% recycled polyamide.

See? That was quick. For the rest, use your noggin. Follow these few pointers and it'll stick with you for years to come.
