Jersey Polo Shirt Care Guide

So you’ve got your hands on one of our Jersey Polo Shirts, did you? Nice. We grafted away for quite some time to get it just right. We’re really happy you’ve snapped one up.

We’ve put together a care guide to help you keep it looking at its best for years to come, here goes.

Washing

Couldn't be simpler: just turn it inside out, pop it in the machine on a 30°C cotton wash with a 600–800 rpm spin cycle.

Obviously, it's best to wash similar colours together so the darker ones don't bleed onto the lighter ones, but you probably already knew that. If you've got a mesh laundry bag handy, even better.

For detergent, we always recommend a liquid, eco-friendly one. If you have time on your hands, you can also make your own by following one of the 3 million recipes floating around the internet. It's cheaper, greener, and you finally get to develop your own scent.

Drying

Jersey is a knit, not a woven fabric. And when it comes to drying knits, flat is best. If you're short on space, you can obviously hang it upside down on an airer, but ideally lay it flat — on a towel if you have one spare, to soak up the excess water. Over time, this'll help it hold its clean lines and avoid stretching.

Ironing

You can absolutely take an iron to this polo shirt. Just make sure yours is set to the cotton setting, 110°C max, and place a layer of fabric between the iron and the fabric. It will avoid it becoming shiny and mitigate any risk of limescale stains.

The fine print

Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works.

So here are a few extra details about your Jersey Polo Shirt:

  • Your Jersey Polo Shirt is recyclable after dismantling. If your time together comes to an end, your item can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
  • It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, it’s been made from 100% organic cotton to minimise its environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
  • It doesn't contain hazardous substances. It respects strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make it.
  • It doesn't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible with this one.

Thanks!

That's it, we hope you really enjoy wearing it.

We'll be back in touch in a couple of weeks to see how you're getting on.
