Caring for your Light Bodywarmer

Washing it

A bodywarmer is what’s known, in the biz, as a base or mid-layer. Think of it as the fashion version of the lettuce in a BLT, a handy essential that ties the other layers you’re wearing together into a dreamy outfit. We don’t make rules about how you wear things, but that said, most people tend not to wear bodywarmers solo. So, with that in mind, as long as you keep it on the clean side, let it air on a hanger from time to time that should be all that’s needed to keep it feeling fresh.

But when life intervenes (gravy dribble, baby sick, half pint of IPA, you know the ones…) and you need to wash your bodywarmer, here’s how to do it:

- You can machine wash it, but no hotter than 30°C.

-Opt for the delicate setting with a maximum rinse cycle of 800rpm.

- Wash it with similar colours and go for a natural detergent, if possible.

Drying it

Once it’s clean as a whistle, make sure you stay far away from the tumble dryer. Resist the urge, it’s not the bodywarmer’s friend. Make life easy for yourself and just let the Light Bodywarmer dry al fresco on a hanger. That will keep the padding in all the right places. Also avoid drying in direct sunlight to protect the colour.

If you’re into an extra smart bodywarmer, you can take a few passes with an iron, provided you don’t go over 110°C!

There you have it. Pretty straightforward.
