Care Guide for the Wool Work Jacket

This guide is to help you get the most out of your new Wool Work Jacket over the years - decades - to come. We’ll focus on the 2 main points to keep it looking at its best:

1 - Day-to-day care: as like all great quality things they age well but even better when properly taken care of.

2 - Dry cleaning: as you probably know this sort of garment can’t be washed at home so there’ll no doubt be a few trips to the dry cleaners over the years.

Read on!

Day-to-day care

First up, always remember to hang your jacket on a hanger to avoid the shoulders and neck losing their shape. Any hanger is better than no hanger, but the right hanger is best. One with a wide shoulder like this is best.

If your jacket ever gets creased - travelling, nightclub, kids - the first thing to do is to hang it on a hanger for a day or two. This will allow for creases to naturally fall out, the weight of the jacket literally does the hard work for you.

If you ever get anything on it as can happen, try a little warm water and the smallest drop of gentle natural soap. This is just to encourage the stain out, so no need to create a foam. Never use hot water as the wool isn't a big fan of it.

Lastly, we’ve put some spare horn buttons in a pocket if you ever need them.

Dry-cleaning

If you ever really mess up the jacket as can also happen occasionally, head to your dry cleaners. They will dry clean it which should get rid of any dirt, and press it back into shape if that was the problem. Both of these require specialist equipment and knowledge that can only be found at good dry cleaners.

A useful piece of advice for you: check your clothes before you leave the dry cleaners. If anything has been damaged in the cleaning process you will need to let them know before you physically leave the premises. If not you may have a hard time claiming this.

Thanks !
