Care guide for The Ultimate Slim Jeans

Unlike those frail jeans with an under-par cut you soon regretted buying (so you told us in the questionnaire), these aren’t only hard-wearing, they're also nicely fitted. Here are a few tips to make sure they stay that way for as long as possible.

Washing Ritual

You won't need a PhD to wash your Slim Jeans. Also, forget any urban legends about jeans that never get washed. You can go for a regular machine wash at 30°C, inside out and preferably on a delicate setting with similar colours and little or no spin-drying.

Now for drying. Hang them by the legs in the open air, away from direct sunlight, which could alter their colour. Avoid tumble dryers like the plague, as there is no better way to shorten your jeans’ life expectancy.

Over time and with wear, the fabric will naturally soften. Don't worry, this is not a defect but a quality. A spin in the wash will restore its original structure when necessary. See it as a little rejuvenation ritual.

Purists may opt to soak them in cold water with a drop of natural soap a handful of times a year, but make sure you air them out properly between each wear. It'll get rid of bacteria and give your jeans a nice fresh feel.

Watch out for the first wash

Your Slim Jeans have been indigo-dyed, so they're likely to bleed a little on the first wash. To avoid staining your light clothes, we recommend washing them with dark pieces the first time round.

Similarly, they may bleed a tad for a week or two. Avoid light-coloured tops and shoes until the dye has set in.

Ironing

If ironing denim’s your thing, opt for the cotton setting and place a layer of fabric on top of it to protect the denim or avoid making any marks.

FYI, OUR SLIM JEANS AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Slim Jeans:

  • Unfortunately they’re not recyclable. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation.
  • They contain 1% biodegradable microplastics, namely ROICA the most sustainable plastic available today, which allows us to greatly improve the durability and comfort of your Slim Jeans. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems**.**
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Slim Jeans.

Thanks !
