Care guide for the New Jacket
Most jackets spend half their life at the dry cleaner's, or slowly dying at the back of a wardrobe.
Not this one. The New Jacket’s a very different animal. The Herringbone version is made from organic cotton, and the denim from Regenagri cotton. Both fabrics have been treated with a Kitotex finish — a natural, biodegradable polymer with zero nasty chemicals. They’re built to be worn, washed, worn again, without having to faff about. They’re super simple to look after, here’s how.

Washing
Unbutton it, turn it inside out, and into the drum it goes. 30°C cycle, organic liquid detergent, and for the spin, keep it to 800 rpm max. That's it. The only thing is not to leave it festering in the machine once the cycle's done: get it out straight away. Cotton — herringbone or denim — doesn't like sitting in a damp ball at the bottom of a drum. Does anything, really?

Drying
No tumble dryer. NO TUMBLE DRYER. We're labouring the point because the temptation is real, but it's the fastest way to wreck the fibres and lose the shoulder line that gives this jacket its charm. Instead, hang it up straight away on a thick or rounded hanger, outdoors or in a well-ventilated spot, away from direct sunlight. Most of the creases will fall out as it dries and it’ll find its drape all on its own, no help required.

Ironing
Good news: herringbone barely creases and denim just likes to do its own thing, so you shouldn't really need to reach for the iron at all. If you do, 150°C max, always with a cloth between the iron and the fabric. A quick burst of steam on the cloth before you press, and you're done in two minutes.

Storage
Hang it up. Always. On a thick or rounded hanger that follows the curve of the shoulder. Not a skimpy wire hanger that'll carve out two lovely bumps in no time. If you've got the space, give it a bit of breathing room between other items: cotton needs air to hold its shape.

YOUR JACKET’S IMPACT, FOR THE RECORD.
Since 1 January 2024, the AGEC law requires all textile brands to be transparent about what goes into their products so we can all have a much better idea of exactly what we're buying. We didn't wait for the legislation to do this, we actually lobbied for it, and we think it's an important step in the right direction to change the way our industry works.
So here are a few extra details about your New Jacket:
- It's 100% recyclable. If your time together comes to an end, your item can be fully recycled. That said, we'd always recommend repairing and/or handing it down to someone before recycling.
- It doesn't contain plastic microfibres. Unlike a lot of clothing that sheds microplastics in the wash, it’s been designed to minimise their environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that wreak havoc on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
- It doesn't contain hazardous substances. Our New Jackets respect strict European standards aimed at eliminating harmful substances and chemical treatments for you, the environment, and the people who make them.
- It doesn't contain recycled materials. Sometimes we manage to incorporate recycled materials to further reduce the impact of our clothes. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible with this one.

That’s it!
Now you know. Follow these few rules and this jacket will serve you well for many, many years.
We'll be back in touch in a couple of weeks to see how you're getting on.
