Care Guide for the Leather Wallet
With a little bit of care, leather should improve over time, wearing in and taking on its own unique character. The fancy word for this is ‘patina,’ and we want to make sure your Wallet patinates nicely, so here are a few general rules when it comes to care.
Firstly, keep it out of the sun. It’s already been professionally tanned, so it doesn’t need any additional rays. The UV could fade the rich colour.
It’ll hold its shape much more easily if you keep it away from sources of heat. Think twice about leaving it next to a radiator overnight.
Water is not your wallet’s best friend. Get it wet, and the leather will likely mark, which is hard to reverse. In fact, it’s worth using a specific leather waterproofing treatment from time to time just to give it that added protection.
Should your Wallet require it, give it a wipe with a damp cloth (we know we said no water, but damp is fine, just don’t go pouring glasses of water over it).
Then, once it's fully dry, a dab of beeswax will keep the leather hydrated and looking its best. Minor scratches can be removed using an alcohol-free hydrating cream. Avoid solvents at all costs.

Thanks!
That’s it from us.
We'll be back in touch in a couple of weeks to see how you're getting on. If you have any comments in the meantime please do share them, however minor –positive or negative – by getting in touch: help@asphalte-paris.com.
Thanks again.
