Care guide for the Denim Jacket

You’ll be wearing this Denim Jacket for a while, and might even pass it on to the next generation, looking nicer by the day. Something referred to as patina in the business.

Caring for it

If you do get a stain, take a slightly damp sponge and gently blot your jacket, but make sure not to do it too vigorously or you’d risk rubbing the stain in. Generally speaking, the best thing is not to wash it at all but to air it out every now and then. But if you really have no other option, put it in the wash at 30°C max, with a very low spin-drying cycle (minimal rpm).

On the other hand, when it comes to drying, you can skip the tumble dryer altogether and go for drying on a hanger in the open air, avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible.

GOOD TO KNOW: If you’ve gone for raw denim wash, we recommend not wearing it over a white T-shirt straight away as the indigo dye might rub off onto it. So just start off with darker colours and you should be ok.

FYI, OUR DENIM JACKET IS SOFT ON YOU AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Denim Jackets:

  • They’re 100% recyclable once taken apart. This means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. However, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. By giving rather than selling, you're contributing to a virtuous cycle and helping those who need it most.
  • Unlike many garments that release microplastics during washing, our Denim Jackets have been designed not to do so. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try and incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Denim Jacket

Thanks!
