Care guide for the Corduroy Collar Jacket
Generally speaking, we don't recommend washing that often. Like most jackets, this one’s fine with just taking a little breather al fresco on a hanger on the regular. That should clear it from any smells and freshen it up in most cases.
The denim version
This concerns the Black and Stone washes.
Washing it.
Put in inside out in the wash at 30°C max, and top off with a slow to medium speed rinse cycle (no more than 600 rpm). Take care to wash it with similar colours, especially as the dye might bleed in the first few washes.
Drying it
We don't recommend using a tumble dryer. Simply put it on a large hanger and leave it to air dry, that should do the job.
Ironing it
If ironing is your thing, that’s fine, just no higher than 110°C to get the creases out. You might want to put a cloth between the iron plate and your jacket so as not to scorch it or leave marks on the denim.
Tips: Shortcut for extra character
aWant to fast pace your jacket’s patina. Give it a little plunge in sea water and leave it to dry on a tree branch. Sounds rustic but works wonders.

The duck canvas version
Just like the denim version, machine wash at 30°C. Turn it inside out and wash with similar colours preferably in a washing net and using a liquid detergent, also avoiding ones with bleaching agents. When it comes to spinning, no more than 400 to 800 rpm and you're good to go.
Caring for the spills and thrills
These things happen even to the best of us. First piece of advice is not to rub the stain, as this could damage the dye.
- For ink stains, soak the area in milk.
- For oily stains, apply a drop of washing-up liquid without rubbing and let your washing machine do the hard work.
Drying it
The tumble dryer is a no-go here too. That goes for most clothes. The easiest and preferable way is still to put it on a hanger in a well-ventilated room or outdoors for that extra fresh feel.
Ironing it
That’s ok, but this time you can go up to 150°C, that’s a max, so as not to damage the cotton fibres.

FYI, OUR CORDUROY COLLAR JACKETS ARE SOFT ON YOU AND THE PLANET
Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Corduroy Collar Jackets:
- They’re 100% recyclable once taken apart, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. However, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. By giving rather than selling, you're contributing to a virtuous cycle and helping those who need it most.
- Unlike many garments that release microplastics during washing, our Corduroy Collar Jackets have been designed not to do so. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
- They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
- They do not contain any recycled materials. We try and incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Corduroy Collar Jacket.
That’s it
