Care Guide for the Cashmere Sweatshirt
How to keep your cashmere looking (and Feeling) good.

Washing
Here's the thing about cashmere: it loves water. In fact, it gets softer with every wash — as long as you treat it right.
Hand-washing is best. Every 7 or 8 wears, fill a basin with cold water (20°C max), add a splash of wool detergent, and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly in cold water, and you're done.
PS: If you'd rather use the machine, stick to a wool cycle at 20°C and keep the spin under 400 rpm.

Drying
Don't wring or twist it — that'll damage the fibres. Instead, fold it gently and press out the excess water. Then lay it flat on a towel and let it air-dry.
Keep it out of direct sunlight — UV and dye don't mix.

Ironing
You probably don't need to. But if you do, use a cool iron with a cloth between the sweatshirt and the plate.

Storage
Never hang knitwear. It stretches. Fold it instead.
If you've got cedar wood or lavender sachets, toss them in your wardrobe — they're natural moth repellents.

Last thing
To take things a tad further
- You might want to get a cashmere comb. Even with long fibres and tight knitting, pilling happens. A quick comb every now and then keeps things looking sharp.
- Vacuum-pack it in summer. Wash it, seal it, and store it somewhere cool and dry until next season.

Full transparency
Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Cashmere Sweatshirts:
- They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing yours for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing it on to a friend, family member or donating it to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
- No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Cashmere Sweatshirts have been designed not to release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
- They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
- They contain 65% recycled materials. The other 35% is virgin cashmere fibre. Best of both worlds.
