Care Guide for the Army Jacket
Your Army Jacket’s a tough nut, still, we've got a few care tips to make sure it stays with you for years to come. Onwards and upwards!

Rule n°1: washing it
Your Army Jacket is made from 100% organic cotton, a natural fibre that's not afraid of water. So you can put it in the washing machine if you need to, as long as you aim for a 30°C programme, and set the spin cycle to 600 rpm maximum.
To be on the safe side, we recommend that you wash it inside out, preferably with the pockets and cuffs unbuttoned. If you can loosen the drawstring at the waist, that's good too. The idea is to avoid unnecessary tension in the chaos of the drum.
When it comes to washing powder, we can't recommend using natural liquid detergents enough but that's up to you.

Rule n°2: drying it
Please stay away from the tumble dryer, no need for a baptism of fire, your jacket comes in peace.
Let it dry on a large wooden hanger al fresco or in a well-ventilated area. If you can avoid direct sunlight, you'll be spared any long-term discolouration, especially on the darker models.

Rule 3: Ironing it
Some people like their jackets looking sharp, and there's nothing to stop you from ironing yours a few times to smooth it out: simply select the cotton setting and place a layer of fabric between your jacket and the iron soleplate to avoid any marks. We’re talking of a quick 2-minute job here.

ALWAYS MORE TRANSPARENCY
Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Army Jackets:
- They’re 100% recyclable after being taken apart. This means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. However, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. By giving rather than selling, you're contributing to a virtuous cycle and helping those who need it most.
- Unlike many garments that release microplastics during washing, our Army Jackets have been designed not to do so. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
- They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
- They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Army Jacket.

On all fronts
And there you have it. If you follow these few tips, there's no doubt that your Army Jacket will have your back for decades to come.
For our part, we'll be coming back to you in a few weeks' time to get your feedback on the product. If you have any feedback to give us, positive or negative, feel free to reach out to our team at support@asphalte.com.
