Bless those cotton socks
A good reason to keep your socks on
4,000 of you took part in our sock questionnaire, that’s a lot of input. Here are the problems you've had with your socks in the past.
1
The fabric didn’t, well, blow your socks off
2
They stretched and lost their shape
3
Holes appeared in no time flat
4
The heel wore thin in a flash
We’ve been working our socks off
The right fabric first
You don’t make superlative socks with shoddy materials. So we did our thing: got into some serious material research. A few months later, we landed on the perfect sock combo: 75% organic cotton, 23 % polyamide and 2 % elastane. Great stats for comfortable, hardwearing and breathable socks that’ll keep up with your pace for the long run.
Stand up guys
We all know the feeling of a sock creeping down your leg, slowly settling around your ankle, the endless hitching up… no thank you. We added an elastic band to the ribbing on these, it’s sturdy stuff that won’t be losing its grip any time soon. So, these’ll stay put at calf level without cutting off the blood supply to your feet. A bonus, we think.
No hole-in-one here
Open-toe or heel-free socks have never been a thing and there’s a good reason why. We didn’t want you to end up being part of an involuntary trend, so we reinforced the heel and the tips with a cotton/polyamide knit that passed our rub test with flying colours. Hardy stuff, that won’t look like Swiss cheese after a few outings.
Neat finish
The top part of the Perfect Sock is finished with a tubular hemming. That’s a technical way of saying we folded the sock onto itself to keep a neat, clean finish that also happens to make it more resistant to the many tugs and pulls it will no doubt be facing.
Everyone’s getting socked in
We don’t like to leave anyone out, we’re inclusive like that. So we’ve got two sizes and six colours in the mix for the Perfect Socks - ranging from the sober classics to the more extravagant characters in the sock line-up. We didn’t venture into novelty territory, mind you, no ‘Christmas present from your aunt’ stuff here. If you’re in between sizes, go for the smaller one.
European sock making
Our Perfect Socks are 100% made in Europe, in Portugal to be precise, by the jersey wizards at Fiorima. Expertise goes a long way, and so will the Perfect Socks.
Thanks Valentin
About a year ago Valentin got in touch, urging us to remedy a dire situation… No, it wasn’t a substandard, baggy, hole-riddled pair of his socks. It was the omission of the mighty sock from our lineup. Well, he was right, so we fixed it and now you can be dressed in Asphalte from head to toe. Co-creation at its finest, wouldn’t you say?
A lifetime in… Asphalte socks
Tested, tugged, toed and - ultimately - approved by those of you who dropped by our offices, we’ve made use of your input from A to Z on the Perfect Socks. European-made, top-quality footwear, at a fair price. We went over and beyond, no toeing the line on this assignment.
