Introducing the cashmere of tomorrow
Off the beaten path
Tired of choosing between breaking the bank for decent cashmere or settling for something that's going to let you down in an instant? Enter the New Cashmere with all the luxurious qualities of high-end cashmere, minus the sky-high price tag. Magic? Just a lot of hard work and our trusty preorder system.
Cashmere, the White Gold
Cashmere is the crème de la crème of wools. It comes from Capra Hircus Laniger goats farmed mainly in Mongolia, and you need 300 to 400 g to make one jumper. That’s what 4 goats produce in a year. No wonder it’s called white gold.
New Cashmere, same credentials
The world’s got a thing for cashmere. A big thing. No surprise then that fast fashion’s waded in without much care for quality, animal welfare or farming standards. Let’s just say that while this makes for low retail prices, quite a few people are paying the price. And not just the animals, their herders and the environment. You are too, as all too often those jumpers just don’t last. That’s why we blended 35% virgin cashmere with 65% recycled cashmere to make a more affordable and sustainable jumper that’s a good deal for everyone.
Anti-Pilling Patrol
Cheap cashmere pills because it’s made with short fibres. So, we use long fibres spun into a triple thread yarn to make our knit more durable. That’s three threads twisted together to make a denser, stronger knit. Not saying it’ll never pill, it will, but it’s going to age much better and last a lot longer.
The Perfect Fit
Not too tight, not too loose. Our straight fit glides over your body without clinging. Wear it over a tee, a shirt or nothing at all and feel like it was tailored just for you.
Quality Craftsmanship
Crafted by our partner artisans at Yana in Bulgaria, this one comes with set-in sleeves, a solid 1X1 rib crewneck, reliable ribbing and impeccable detailing. It’s built to last and look good for years to come.
Five Lush Colors
Choose from navy, marled grey, green, or a snappy plum—each one packs a punch of colour. From understated classic to uniquely characterful. There’s also a versatile beige that goes well with blues and blacks, not always an easy feat, and always looks elegant. Which one will it be?
Cashmere Care
Cashmere gets a bad rap for being tricky to care for, but the truth is all wools need attention. Cashmere doesn’t respond well to heat or being wrung or spun. But it does love water and gets softer with every wash. So gently wash your cashmere by hand in cold water and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight. Don’t wring out the excess water, just gently press it and let the excess evaporate. Follow these steps, and your cashmere will stay in tip-top shape for the long haul.
Enter a new era
The world’s demand for cashmere is hitting breaking point, and as usual, the animals and the planet suffer most. With the New Cashmere, we’re flipping the script. By blending 35% virgin cashmere with 65% recycled cashmere, we’re existing unused fibres back out of retirement and challenging a destructive cycle. More eco-friendly, equally luxurious, and built to last a lot longer. Makes sense to us. Make sense to you?
