YEP, IT’S HEAVY
First things first, this thing is hefty. Made from either 330g/m2 cotton moleskin or 350g/m2 cotton flannel, it’s a shirt that veers particularly close to jacket territory. Shirt? Overshirt? Shacket? Whatever you call it, one thing’s for sure… it’ll get a lot of wear come winter.
A BRUSH WITH GREATNESS
Both the moleskin and flannel options have been brushed on the outside for a soft finish. Not only does this feel ace, but the resulting raised fibres help trap the air and increase insulation. In short — a brushed shirt is a toastier shirt.
TESTING, TESTING, 123…
To make sure our Heavy Shirt was up to scratch we sent it off to a lab where it was put through its paces. We’re glad we did, because now we can shout about the results. It scored an admirable four out of five for colour fastness and resistance to shrinking, this is one heavyweight that won’t let itself go.
FLAT OUT
To help the Heavy Shirt fit nicely under a big coat, we engineered the collar so it sits flat, without the ‘stand’ you’d associate with something like an Oxford shirt or a button-down. A small detail, maybe, but it makes a big difference when it’s layering season.
PERFECT POCKETS
Iconic designs don’t need to be stuck in the past. We kept those classic chest pockets in place but gave them a little refresh, making sure they were big enough for your phone. How else are you going to film that grizzly bear stealing your breakfast?
SWEET AS A NUT
As well as that ultra-snug fabric, we pulled out the proverbial stops with some particularly swanky dark brown corozo nut buttons that look almost good enough to eat. We recommend you don’t though…
THE IDEAL LAYERING PIECE
The Heavy Shirt is a prime layering piece, and whilst it might be heavyweight, it’s still low-profile, meaning it’ll fit under a big down jacket or parka no problem, should the mercury plummet.
SPRING FORWARD
…and that’s not all. Because of its tidy, straight cut, the Heavy Shirt is the perfect jacket to throw over an Oxford shirt, a grey marl sweater or even a nice tee come springtime — just the thing for taking the edge off that fresh morning chill.

Delivery costs
We deliver worldwide, the cost of which is automatically calculated at checkout. For all deliveries to the UK, European Union countries, Switzerland and Norway we charge a flat fee of 9€. For other European countries we charge 15€, please check our FAQ for the full list of countries included. All other countries are charged at 25€.
Easy to change sizes
If you get the wrong size, fear not, we accept returns and exchanges. For orders in Europe these are free, and for countries, in the rest of the world we ask you to pay the return and we will take care of the cost of sending out an exchange. Just log into your Asphalte account and we’ll get that sorted.
