WoolPure®: built to last

• 100% Arles Merino wool: thermoregulating, soft as you like, and naturally anti-bacterial—get ready for some seriously impressive thermal credentials. It holds onto heat when it’s Baltic outside, and releases it when the thermostat edges up, which is exactly what you want from such a garment. It also boasts a lovely bouncy volume which creates a light, cocooning effect without the bulk. Oh, and it’s a sustainable and renewable natural fibre. Who could ask for more?
• Certified GRS recycled polyester backing: like most fleeces, ours is built on a thin, mesh-like ‘backing’, which basically looks like invisible netting. This base is where we inject all those fluffy wool fibres—think of it as scaffolding, but for merino. It’s hidden from sight and just holds everything together. For proper durability, we’ve gone for GRS-certified recycled polyester. That stands for Global Recycled Standard, which is a punchy standard that traces, checks and ensures that serious environmental and social standards are enforced every step of the way.
• A quick word on care: Merino wool doesn't hang onto smells, so you won't need to chuck it in the wash every other day. A good blast of fresh air normally does the trick. Should any rogue raclette cheese find its mark, then your best bet is to head to your local dry cleaners.

For those who aren't afraid to look the business

• A versatile straight fit. The fleece is cut straight, so you can pull your WoolPure® Fleece over pretty much anything, without looking like the Michelin Man. Handy, stylish, and pretty much good for any occasion.
• A good old two-way zip. From the Heavy Zip Knit to the Wool Zipped Jacket, this nifty little touch is turning into a bit of an Asphalte signature. And we’d say rightly so—it somehow makes all our gear about 50 IQ points smarter. Yes, that goes for the WoolPure® fleece as well. Thanks to this bit of wizardry, you can zip up from the top, the bottom, or both at once if you’re really into it. So whether you’re on your feet, seated, cold, very cold, not-quite-warm, it’s got you covered.
• Well-defined edges. Both the hem and cuffs are finished with elasticated binding—to keep things looking tidy and the draughts out. Depending on the colour you go for, the binding either matches or contrasts. Either way, it’s sturdy and built to last.
• Bit of a head-turner, that funnel neck. The neck on the WoolPure® Fleece rises just right to shield your neck from any gusts of wind looking to put you off your stride. To amp up the warmth factor, we've double-lined the collar with French Merino wool. Plus, that trim we mentioned earlier? It runs along the edge, all the way down the zipper.
• And three pockets means… well, three pockets. Two on the hips, one zipped up at the chest—so you’ve got all your bits and bobs handy. Bonus points: the cotton pockets are lined with wool. That way, you have somewhere really soft and warm to put your hands that’s also built to last.

Co-creation insights. When we got you lot involved for the co-creation phase, 664 of you chimed in to set the record straight on what’s wrong with most fleeces out there. Fluff-shedding, baggy fits, twisting, and enough plastic to make a traffic cone – the list of gripes went on and on and on. So we tweaked, tuned, and built the WoolPure® Fleece to address all these headaches, one by one. Just goes to show – teamwork looks good too.
