How do I wash it?
Simply put, you don't.
The best option is to take it to the dry cleaners once or twice a year.
Merino wool is an animal fibre made of keratin. The brilliant thing about keratin is that it naturally destroys the bacteria that cause bad smells.
If your Merino Beanie starts smelling a bit like last night's curry or someone else's cigarettes (we're not pointing fingers), just leave it to air for a few hours, away from direct sunlight. Nothing could be simpler. And trust us, it works.
If doing nothing feels wrong, you can hand-wash it at home in lukewarm water under 30°C. Oh, and avoid detergents with bleaching agents.
Can I tumble dry it?
Yes, you can – but the tumble dryer is FORBIDDEN. We'll write it again, just to be crystal clear: FORBIDDEN. Let it dry flat or on a clothes rack. End of story
Can I iron it?
We wouldn't recommend it, unless you fancy irreversibly flattening your merino wool. If, for some mysterious reason, you absolutely must iron your Merino Beanie, keep it at 110°C maximum. We can't imagine why you'd want to do such a thing. But hey, now you know.
For the record, our Beanie's quite soft on the planet
Since January 2024, the AGEC law requires fashion brands to be completely transparent so consumers can make informed purchases. We've always been open about our products, so needless to say, we're fully behind this approach. So here's some additional info about our Merino Beanie:
- It's 100% recyclable after dismantling, which means that if you stop wearing yours for whatever reason, it can be fully recycled. Though you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation.
- It contains no plastic microfibres. Unlike many garments that release plastic microfibres when washed, our Merino Beanie has been designed to minimise this environmental impact. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles that can have harmful effects on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
- It contains no hazardous materials. It's made in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical treatments.
- It contains no recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever possible to limit the impact of our clothes, but unfortunately, that's not the case with our Merino Beanie.
Thank you!
