Care guide for the Heavy Cotton Jumper

Yes, cotton is pretty easy to care for compared to other natural materials. But that doesn't mean you have to do just anything with your Heavy Cotton Jumper.

In 3 short steps, we'll show you how to pamper yours so he'll have your back for a long time to come.

Step 1: Washing it

Put it in the washing machine with similar-colour clothes, on a 30°C programme, choosing a maximum spin speed of 400 rpm. Simple and effective. As for the detergent, we recommend going for liquid, organic and without bleaching agents. Your clothes and the planet will appreciate it.

Step 2: Drying it

Even if the Heavy Cotton Jumper isn't made of wool (no surprise here), it's still knitwear. And you know as well as we do that knits tend to warp if you dry them vertically. We therefore recommend that you lay it out to dry flat, possibly on a terry towel. But above all, stay away from the tumble dryer, which is pretty much textiles' worst nightmare. And for anyone wondering: no, we don't recommend ironing.

Step 3: Storing it

When you don't have it on your shoulders, we recommend that you fold it and put it in your cupboard as it is. On a hanger, this 800g heavyweight could stretch with time.

FYI, OUR HEAVY COTTON JUMPER AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Heavy Cotton Jumpers:

  • They’re 100% recyclable, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Heavy Cotton Jumpers have been designed not to release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Heavy Cotton Jumper.

Thanks!
