The problems you've had with your Wool Jackets in the past.
They look outdated
They wear out too fast
They make you sweat buckets
They don’t keep you warm enough
Do your best, Winter
Worth the weight
567g/m2. That’s not just some impressive numbers, it’s the key stat when it comes to the wool we used for this one. And actually, it’s not just wool, it’s virgin wool, combed, drum carded, spun, and woven in Italy. Needless to say, you don’t see this kind of wool everyday… Well, you will if you get your hands on this winter stalwart.
The wool’s got your back
The natural “thermoregulating” properties of wool come in handy here. Simply said: the material keeps you warm when you’ve been dealt a cold one, but keeps things breezy when the weather is milder. You don’t shed too much body heat, but you also don’t sweat buckets - which we think’s a bit of a bonus.
Cut, cut, cut
Jackets stop at the waist. That’s what jackets do. Who are we to change that? But when it comes to some jackets on the market there’s waist and… waist? We made sure this number sits nicely on the actual waist: not above - no belts on show, and not too low - keep those thighs free. The outcome? A comfy, free and easy feel.
On the drape with went for a classic straight cut, but slightly tailored to keep it feeling modern and allowing you to add a few layers without looking like a tied-up Sunday roast joint.
You’re covered also in the storage department. Two patch pockets with button flaps and hand warmers. Imagine it, space for your hands and your stuff! Your valuables will feel at home in the “Asphalte”-style inside pocket, which is still accessible when’s the jacket’s closed. You’ll be glad of that feature when it’s minus 5°C out and you need your wallet.
Clap the lapel
The collar’s no feather weight. The balanced 8.5cm point will stand up nicely, thanks to the heavy fabric and the dog-eared design that lends it the extra hold, perfect for keeping those unwelcome icy gusts at bay.
A signature move
Traditionally jackets tend to sport ribbing at the hem and cuffs. To keep things on the neat and elegant side, we did away with them. But don’t fret, we designed a slightly rounded hem and cuffs, just to add that extra modern and slightly dressed-up feel.
You don’t hold a heavy layer together with a loose construction. Rather you topstitch the seams to make sure it stays as strong as it looks, including on the stress points. The little extra here is the viscose lining, so you can slide your arms in swiftly and look like a pro every time.
Wishing for a longer winter?
So, in short, we put together a hell of a jacket. Stunning cut, top-level insulation and cosy credentials, while keeping you looking the business. Elegant yet practical, warm yet breezy, the official sponsor of your many successful winters to come. It might leave you wishing spring away.
