PARKA PERFECTION

Combing through your 6736 replies to the questionnaire, it seemed like many parkas out there weren’t up to scratch. The Winter Parka was specifically made with frosty days in mind. Combining classic details with a modern shape, it’s a hard-wearing cold-weather parka that keeps you warm, whilst still… you know… looking cool.

WONDROUS WOOL

We made two versions of the Winter Parka. The first is made using a reassuringly hefty 2 kg of premium wool, densely woven in Italy. As well as being toastier than a loaf of Warburton's, this wool has a fulsome, luxuriant feel to it. Pair it with some cords for that classic Parisian Beatnik lecturer vibe, minus the teeth chattering.

MOLE IN ONE

Or how about some 100% organic cotton moleskin? Reversed so the super-soft side is on the inner, this is a modern take on a classic country fabric also popular with workwear for its durability — with an eco-friendly water-resistant coating to keep the rain where it belongs: outside.

THE INSIDE LINE

To up the comfort stakes even more, both jackets are fully lined. The wool version has a cotton lining with super-slick viscose sleeves, whilst the moleskin one features a military-style quilted liner made from ripstop fabric and wadded with recycled polyester. You’ll also be happy to know it can easily be removed so you can wear your Winter Parka even when the frost thaws.

ROOM TO BREATHE

We’ve updated the shape of our Winter Parka so it fits better than ever. That means a straight cut that falls nicely mid-thigh: a sharp shape with enough room for a jumper or a fleece underneath and practical for when you need to hop on your bike.

SCIENTIFICALLY FORMULATED STUFF-HOLDERS

Seeing as no parka is complete without its pockets, we added two upper hand-warmer pockets along with some reassuringly big lower press-stud pockets and a nifty inside pocket too. We won’t patronise you by listing what you could put in ‘em.

THE FINER DETAILS

Backing up that hearty fabric you’ll find corozo buttons, a chunky YKK zip and a big hood to keep your bonce out of the elements. In fact, we’ve updated the hood so it’s better than ever—with a simplified design that fits well without need for any overcomplicated adjustment shenanigans.

EASY TO CLEAN

Treat it right and the Winter Parka will be around for many years to come. We’d recommend taking the wool version to the dry cleaners before it goes into summer hibernation, whilst the cotton one can be machine washed (once the lining’s removed) at 30°C, no spin, before hanging it out to dry. Simple as that.

A WINTER WINNER

Combining an elegant shape with some particularly swanky and sustainably sourced fabrics, the Winter Parka’s likely to be your first choice from autumn to spring. You might well find it hard to part, once the trees come into leaf and it’s time for your parka to rest up.

Traceability

What goes into making your Winter Parka? The materials have travelled a total of 33,217 km (20,640 miles) from field to doormat.
