All Hail the Jumper Overlords
Something for every neck
These are the problems you've had with your woolly jumpers in the past.
The knits gave up the wool to live
The cut wasn’t great
They itch and pill
The collars lose the plot
The cherries on top
You’ve met our Perfect Jumper and you liked it, right? Of course, it’s perfect, after all. We kept the same tried-and-tested, carefully honed foundations for the body and worked on two new collars: the Turtleneck for those who like to keep it snug and warm, and the V-neck for those who like to show a little more off. Don’t fret, we put a lot into perfecting these too.
Keep it rolling
For a lot of you it seemed like getting a Turtleneck that kept its shape and had some backbone (rather than clinging desperately to you) was mission impossible. Even more so if you wanted one that didn’t give you a neck rash and left your facial hair in peace. The secret ingredient in this dreamy roll recipe? A 1x1 ribbing, nice and sturdy with a tubular bind-off on the neckline, so you can keep popping your head in and out like an arcade whack-a-mole without getting you or your jumper hurt in the process.
V for Victory
In the world of politics, integrity is theoretically a key quality, but sadly something of a rarity. Same goes for the world of knitwear… If your new jumper fits nicely, naturally you want it to stay that way. You asked for V-neck, not a U-neck. This one was measured to a tee, and can be relied upon to stay the course. This V-neck’s in it for the long haul.
It’s a wonderful world of wool
These two are both made with pure Merino wool that’s thinner and softer than the regular stuff, and its fibres naturally regulate body temperature. Think of these as reactive woollies. And thanks to our fantastic wool provider in South Africa, we know that our wool comes from growers who are mindful of people, the environment and animal welfare. Happy sheep, happy sweaters.
‘Milano’ – probably Italian for ‘Oooh, That’s Nice’
‘There’s more than one way to skin a cat’ is a saying that doesn’t conjure particularly pleasant images, so how about this: ‘There’s more than one way to knit a jumper.’ Much nicer, right? In fact, there are many ways to knit a jumper. We’ve opted for a Milano stitch, which is dense and textured, but breathable. We don’t speak Italian, but no doubt ‘Milano’ translates as ‘Oooh, that’s nice’…
Fit for purpose
We’ve got to hand it to you, you lot know what you want. And the fit is always high up on the checklist. If it don’t fit right, it don’t sit right with you. Of course, it’s not a massive shocker, as a decent fit is pretty much the most important thing when it comes to clothes. So a neat, tailored fit, it is then. You ask, we listen.
Weighing in nicely
This isn’t your thick, baggy, grandma’s-knitted-me-a-jumper jumper. This is your stylish, tailored top. One that’s spot on for any occasion. That said, it’s only September, and it’s going to get colder. So we wanted to assure you that these jumpers have some thermal clout. Each weighs in at over 1/2 kilo of wool. Heavy enough to keep you cosy, but light enough to wear under a jacket.
Not a care in the world
You’re not buying a puppy here… A new jumper shouldn’t require a lot of supervision. We’ve made sure these jumpers don’t come with a weekly care contract, so consider your personal time safe. When they need a little freshening, just bung ‘em in the machine, no warmer than 30°C, mind!
All the production steps for your Merino Jumpers
