IN TALL COTTON
This sweatshirt's made from 100% organic cotton. With a whopping 500g/m2, it's in a different weight class than most sweatshirts without ever being too warm. We brushed the reverse after knitting, so you can wrap yourself up in softness.
SOLID AS A ROCKY
Thanks to its thickness, your buddy always stays in shape, drapes nicely and looks good. We made sure of that by testing its limits in an independent lab and we can safely say that this sweatshirt didn't make a fuzz about it. It scored 4.5/5 which means almost no pilling. As close as you can get to a high 5 .
The cut is straight with slightly narrowed side seams to create that subtly tailored look. It also helps to avoid the kind of annoying and awkward bumps that you can get with large vintage sweatshirts. This one'll sit nicely on the waist.
Our jersey's cut lengthwise and that means knitting horizontally, contrary to industry standards. it gives our sweat more elasticity which is a) more comfortable and b) a better look. And to add c) freedom of movement and d) flexibility, we added two extra panels in the sides, not just any detail but a proper tribute to vintage sweaters.
It takes some work to keep it all together. A triple thread no less, that's three threads crossing between the different panels. This vintage sewing technique is called "flatlock" and adds strength and flexibility to your sweatshirt, so you can move fast and break things but never your sweatshirt.
CARD UP YOUR SLEEVE
The raglan sleeves on this sweatshirt are ace. They run from the underarm to the collar creating rounded shoulders that add a little mystery to your shape. Yes you know it, only snitches get stitches. It makes for a sporty look that is easy to wear and easy to move in.
PROTECT YA NECK
The waist and cuff ribbings are in the same 1x1 100% organic cotton. We added 10% elastane to the collar, as it makes it more comfortable to pop on and helps it return to its original shape, the collar that is. Strong and comfortable so you can stay warm even when you're being jabbed by the weather.
NO JUMPING SHIP
To keep the colours of your sweatshirt to die for, we dye the fabric in rolls before making them. So your sweater stays as vibrant and on point as you do.
IT'S ALL IN THERE
Whether you're breaking into a sweat or keeping it cool by staying warm, every little detail of this sweatshirt has been worked out to make you feel like you're in cosy, soft cotton-heaven.

Four of us started Asphalte back in 2016. With a few years of experience in fashion under our belts, we wanted to make clothes, but not just any old clothes. Well-made clothes, designed to last, using great materials and made in good conditions. The guys we wanted to kit were our mates, who liked clothes but who weren't willing to go all out on a pair of jeans. We send them a survey to find out what they expected from a brand. Their answers were so enlightening that we opened the questionnaires up to everyone. Best decision we ever made.
Since then, you've been at the start of every clothes we make. We ask for your opinion on a product before we get busy with the design process, and that's the way forward for us.
We're not here to reinvent the wheel. We're here to make your wardrobe classics with the best materials and the best manufacturers. Above all, we're here to make things simple, stuff that you'll still be able to wear in ten years' time.
Over the last 4 years, we've gradually put together the dream team to make it happen on a larger scale. Today, there are 30 of us working to make your favourite clothes, in a quality that was once reserved for a handful of men.
