GIVE YOUR SHORTS A DAY OFF
Lightweight trousers built for high summer
Our clothes are made with your help—and every time we hit the drawing board to sketch out a new design, we like to put out the call for your input—asking what you want… and don’t want. Here’s how other Summer Trousers let you down in the past…
What you didn’t want
1
They were too warm
2
They lost their shape
3
The cut was more miss than hit
4
They creased too easily
Hot Weather? No Problem
THE SUN HAS GOT HIS TROUSERS ON
Summer doesn’t have to mean shorts. Designed as the perfect hot-weather slacks, the Summer Trousers are for those who want to stay cool, calm and collected while everyone else at the party’s sweating through their jeans.
BREEZY DOES IT
The Summer Trousers are available in two ultra-breezy, lightweight fabrics. Fabric No.1 is a 240g/m2 cotton that’s made in Italy. Woven with irregular thread, it’s got a nice, characterful feel that’ll keep things fresh, even on the most humid of days.
ITALIANS DO IT BETTER
Fabric No.2 is a 275g/m2 Italian linen. This stuff is tough and comes with all those mystical cooling qualities that linen is famous for, making it perfect for swanning around picturesque Mediterranean towns like a young, less sinister, Tom Ripley.
JUST RIGHT
The Summer Trousers have the same cut as our Light Trousers from last summer. Not too baggy, and not too slim, they’re comfortable, relaxed trousers with a bit of classical flavour. Imagine Paul Newman building sandcastles in Blackpool and you’re on the right track.
MADE FROM TOUGH STUFF
Summer adventures require heavy-duty hard-wear, so we made sure not to skimp on the important stuff. That means a chunky YKK zip, secured belt loops, and bio-based buttons made from our favourite double-act: corozo and horn. The Summer Trousers are put together by Selgado El Nato in Portugal. They make really, really good trousers - trust us.
FEEL THE FLEX
To make things super-comfy, the Summer Trousers have a tasteful bit of elastic in the waistband. There’s a time and a place for super-stiff, harpoon-proof work-pants, but the middle of summer isn’t one of them. Take it easy.
WE VALUE YOUR VALUABLES
Ever noticed how a lot of summer slacks tend to be pretty free and easy when it comes to pockets? Not these. We went for two solid side pockets, and two secure welt pockets at the back - all with sturdy organic cotton pocket bags. You won’t be having to explain another set of lost keys to Rent-a-Voiture this time round.
NOT JUST NAVY
Dark blue trousers are great and all, but some days you want something a little different. That’s why we leafed through our big Pantone book to bring you some seriously summery hues. Want pink pants? You’re in the right place.
A NEW SUMMER FAVOURITE
Light, comfortable and highly wearable, the Summer Trousers work just as well with a crisp button-down shirt at work as they do with your favourite overly-obscure vintage football shirt in the beer garden.
