This is what you’d had your fill of:

1

Itchy materials

2

No thermal oomph

3

They lose their shape

4

Too long in length

Warm on heads, soft on price

SCRATCH THE ITCH

Let’s banish those discount woollies that are mean to your ears. We've opted for one of the nicest wools on the market: Merino. It's world-renowned for being ultra-soft and warm. But don’t fret, we’ve kept a price just as soft on you and the sheep.

A TOASTY LOAF

We had that superb Merino carded — a technical, fabric-y term that means the wool’s coarsely sorted, rather than being machine combed — making the final knit all the more bouncy, with an outdoorsy, characterful look and added thermal clout.

3 TIMES SPOT ON

You told us you’d had enough of those 90s footballer hang-off-the-back-of-your-head beanies. So we put time, effort, and some high-powered algebra into nailing a length that allows you to roll it up once for a classic feel; or twice for that grizzled docker smoking a rollie on a pallet look. It’s your call.

STAYING POWER

To give the Beanie even more character, we knitted it in double stitches (also known as "English ribs" if you want to get technical). The result’s there for all to see: solid vertical ribbing that adds texture and hold, without looking too busy.

A PROPER RIBBING

We've gone to town designing a beanie that’ll keep a grip on things. High yarn quality, ultra-tight stitching, those vertical English ribs, and a dense knit. These are all ingredients you need to create a snug hat that’ll keep its shape for many winters to come.

BEANIE IN ONE

The Beanie is knitted in one go, a continuous flow of stitches from crown to rim. It's an approach known as ‘fully-fashioned’ construction and as well as making your woollens hardier, it also means there are no seams in the mix, so nothing’ll interfere with your hats good looks.

MULESING EVERY MORNING

We’re sure to only work with Merino farms that are certified mulesing-free. This means that the sheep are treated well and crucially they’re groomed regularly to prevent flystrike — a nasty parasitic infection that can also be avoided by a painful treatment, the ‘mulesing’ we’re so keen to keep clear of. Happy sheep, top-notch wool, cracking hats.

CROWN PLEASER

Soft? Tick. Warm? Check. What about style? Well; the beanie’s been on the go for centuries, a classic bit of gear that’s spanned eras and found its niche in every subculture, tradition and clique. From dockers to rockers, sailors to authors, the beanie’s as reliable as they come. A passing fad it’s not. And ours comes in six classic colours. Almost one for each day of the week, if you get really carried away.

ROLLBACK PRICE

We know what you’re thinking… For this chunk of 100% Merino wool, made with English ribbing in Portugal, you’ll have to pay an arm and a leg. Well, no. In fact, ours is one of the most fairly priced pure wool beanies out there. Yup, only 29€ thanks to our preorder model and a bit of patience from yours truly. Now that’s using your head.
