They’re not cut properly

It's linen for the foreseeable

Classic Fit

A far cry from the skinny jeans, gym bunnies and the drop-crotch chino army, our Linen Trousers are designed with a straight leg which makes them ideal for any occasion.

Holding strong

Finding the right weight of linen can be the difference between the perfect summer afternoon and one where your legs never stop hating you. Ours weighs in at 275g/m2 which is lightweight enough to drift about and let the breeze through but weighty enough to stop it creasing too much either. What's more, they'll keep their shape right through to the end too.

Simple Pockets

Often trousers unnecessarily alter the formation of their pockets. Pockets are one of the apparel’s most useful additions. Like you, we never understood trimming them up or making them a nightmare to get into. This is why we stuck to what works: classic, simple pockets for your phone, wallet and any other paraphernalia you might need at a moment’s notice.

Tradition is good

While being innovative and forward-thinking is all well and good, but sometimes you’re better off sticking to the traditional way. This time around we've opted for an easy nylon zipper and a V comfort pleat at the rear. A nod to traditional formal wear while keeping with a modern cut.

A neat look

You asked for simple features, so no flapping about, we cut the back pockets neatly, added natural-looking horn buttons and a clean finish at the hem so you can go for the look you want depending on what you’re wearing.

How you like them now?

Through a combination of stripping it back to classic tailoring and traditional designs, these lightweight and breathable slacks are as ready for summer as you are.

A real team effort

Grown in the fields of France and Belgium and spun in Tunisia, our Linen Trousers then travel to Italy to be dyed and woven. From there it’s to Romania to visit our usual tailoring experts who draw on 30 years of mastery. And all you need to do is wear them, which is the best part, right?

Adjustable Waist

We're all in the same boat when it comes to post-paella bloat, which is why we made the Linen Trousers with side adjusters. This detail will be your best friend, just lean back and  with a discreet flick of the wrist you can make your trousers that little bit bigger (or smaller, if you need to).

Classic Colorways

All too often, nice trousers are tarnished with daft colours or naff prints. You asked us for elegant simplicity, which is why we’ve gone for two classic colourways of navy and a natural off-white linen. Not only are both staple shades in a male’s wardrobe, they’re super easy to pair with too.

As versatile as they come

The team

Four of us started Asphalte back in 2016. With a few years of experience in fashion under our belts, we wanted to make clothes, but not just any old clothes. Well-made clothes, designed to last, using great materials and made in good conditions. The guys we wanted to kit were our mates, who liked clothes but who weren't willing to go all out on a pair of jeans. We send them a survey to find out what they expected from a brand. Their answers were so enlightening that we opened the questionnaires up to everyone. Best decision we ever made.

Since then, you've been at the start of every clothes we make. We ask for your opinion on a product before we get busy with the design process, and that's the way forward for us.

We're not here to reinvent the wheel. We're here to make your wardrobe classics with the best materials and the best manufacturers. Above all, we're here to make things simple, stuff that you'll still be able to wear in ten years' time.

Over the last 4 years, we've gradually put together the dream team to make it happen on a larger scale. Today, there are 40 of us working to make your favourite clothes, in a quality that was once reserved for a handful of men.

We'd particularly like to thank the crew who helped us make the Linen Trousers look their best:
